ISO/IEC 18023-3 — Transmittal format binary encoding
7 Conformance
7.1 Table of contents
Table 7.1 contains the table
of contents for this clause.
Table 7.1 — Table of contents
7.2 Types of conformance
7.2.1 Conformance of an STF
A conforming SEDRIS transmittal encoded as specified in this
part of ISO/IEC 18023 shall satisfy the following criteria:
- Each element is encoded in the manner specified in this part of ISO/IEC 18023.
- The syntax of the STF functionally conforms to the ATF as specified in part
2 of ISO/IEC 18023 (see 2.[I18023-2]).
7.2.2 Conformance of generators
Conformance of STF generators is defined in terms of
conformance to a particular profile of SEDRIS.
If P is a profile of SEDRIS that conforms to the rules of
this clause, an STF generator is a conforming P generator if it:
- generates only encoded SEDRIS transmittals that conform to the
requirements of profile P or is directed to operate in a mode where only such
encoded SEDRIS transmittals can be generated;
- generates no syntax in violation of part 1 of ISO/IEC 18023; and
- generates no structure in violation of part 2 of ISO/IEC 18023.
7.2.3 Conformance of interpreters
Conformance of STF interpreters is defined in terms of conformance to a particular profile
of SEDRIS.
If P is a profile of SEDRIS that conforms to the rules of
this clause, an STF interpreter is a conforming P interpreter if it is able to
read any STF-encoded SEDRIS transmittal that confrms to the requirements of
profile P.
