APPENDIX B - Constraints
Control Link Constraints

Definition

For any given <Control Link> instance with one or more index fields containing non-zero values, there shall be a corresponding <Expression> component that is referenced by each non-zero index field value.

For any given <Control Link> instance containing an upper and lower bound index field both of whose values are non-zero, the value produced by the <Expression> component for the lower bound shall be less than or equal to the value produced by the <Expression> component for the upper bound.

Rationale

Each index field value of a <Control Link> instance that specifies an <Expression> component shall specify a valid value. If both an upper and a lower bound are specified, they shall be consistent with one another.
