The SEDRIS Data Representation Model
APPENDIX B - Constraints Property Set Components |
---|
A <Property Set> instance may contain attribute objects used by <Geometry Representation> and / or <Feature Representation> instances. If it contains attribute objects that are used by <Geometry Representation> instances and is referenced by a <Feature Representation> instance, the <Geometry Representation>-related attribute objects are ignored. The reverse is also true.
This allows <Geometry Representation> and <Feature Representation> instances to use the same <Property Set> instance. This may be desirable if they share some of the same attribute objects; for example, if the <Geometry Representation> instances are actually alternate representations of the <Feature_Representation> instances.
A <Linear Feature> is associated with a <Union Of Primitive Geometry> that has been derived from it. Both reference the same <Property Set> that contains an <Inline Colour>, <Light Rendering Properties>, and <Browse Media>. The <Linear Feature> uses the <Inline Colour> and <Browse Media> instances, but ignores the <Light Rendering Properties>. The <Union Of Primitive Geometry> uses the <Inline Colour> and <Light Rendering Properties>, but ignores the <Browse Media>.
