APPENDIX B - Constraints
Reference To Data Table Library

Definition

The following conditions apply to instances of <Property Table Reference>.

  1. The <Property Table> specified by the <Property Table Reference> shall be a component of a <Data Table Library>.

  2. The <Property Table> shall contain an <Axis>, the axis_type of which corresponds to that specified by the <Property Table Reference>.

  3. The <Axis> thus specified shall have axis_value_count greater than or equal to (index_on_axis + 1), where index_on_axis is that specified by the <Property Table Reference>.

Rationale

By definition, a <Property Table Reference> specifies an N-1 dimensional 'slice' of an N dimensional <Property Table> in a <Data Table Library>.

To define that slice, the <Axis> and 'tick mark' value specified by the <Property Table Reference> shall correspond to part of the <Property Table> being referenced.
