An instance of this DRM class specifies a coordinate within the Universal Polar Stereographic (UPS) 2D Spatial Reference Frame (SRF).

Universal Polar Stereographic is a derivation of PS that predefines several of the PS parameters for use by United States Department of Defense information systems and maps.

How does the Universal Polar Stereographic SRF relate to the Polar Stereographic SRF?: The UPS SRF is a derivation of the PS SRF that specifies the values of two of the PS SRF parameters (scale and meridian) for use by U.S. Department of Defense information systems and maps. The UPS SRF relates to the PS SRF in much the same way that each of the UTM SRFs individually relate to the TM SRF.
